Adding Team Showcase (or People Showcase) to a Post Can Result in a 500 Error

If you add the shortcode for the Team Showcase plugin (or the UAMSWP People Showcase plugin) to a post, the post can return a 500 error if an excerpt has not been added for the post. Adding an excerpt for the post will resolve the error.
