Stripo Newsletter Templates
Overview
UAMS Web Services maintains a Stripo Pro account used to design branded email templates. Because the Pro account has a limited number of seats, not all staff can be added as full team members. This article explains how to share a newsletter template from the Pro account so that staff can copy, edit, and export it to Outlook using a free Stripo account — without needing a Pro seat.
How this works
Stripo’s Share feature allows a Pro account holder to generate a shareable link for any template. When a staff member opens that link, they can save a personal copy of the template to their own free Stripo account. They then edit their copy and export it directly to Outlook. The original master template in the Pro account is never changed.
| Account type | Can design? | Can export to Outlook? |
| Stripo Pro (yours) | Yes | Yes |
| Stripo Free (staff) | Yes (on their copy) | Yes (up to 4x/month) |
| ⚠️ Important The share link must be generated from the Pro account. Free account users cannot generate shareable links — they can only receive them. Free Stripo accounts are limited to 4 exports per month. For a monthly newsletter, this is sufficient. |
Part 1: Sharing the template (Pro account holder)
Complete these steps each time you update the master template and need to redistribute it to staff.
| 1 | Open the template | Log in to the UAMS Stripo Pro account and open the newsletter template you want to share. |
| 2 | Open the Share menu | Click the Share button in the top toolbar of the editor. |
| 3 | Enable copying and editing | In the Share panel, toggle on Allow copying and editing. This allows recipients to save their own editable copy. Your original template will not be affected. |
| 4 | Set the view (optional) | Select Collaborative view from the preset options to allow staff to preview the template on desktop and mobile before saving. |
| 5 | Copy the link | Click Copy link and share it with staff via email or Teams. Anyone with the link can access the template. |
| 💡 Tip Save the share link somewhere accessible (such as a pinned Teams message or SharePoint page) so staff can always find the most current version without you having to resend it each month. |
Part 2: Saving and editing your copy (staff with free accounts)
Complete these steps each month when you are ready to produce your newsletter.
Step 1: Create a free Stripo account (first time only)
If you do not already have a Stripo account, go to stripo.email and sign up for a free account using your UAMS email address. No credit card is required.
Step 2: Open the shared template link
Open the link provided by the Web Services team. You will see a preview of the newsletter template in your browser.
Step 3: Save a copy to your account
- Click the Sign in to Save button in the top right corner of the preview.
- Log in to your free Stripo account when prompted.
- Stripo will save a personal copy of the template to your account. The original Pro account template is not changed.
Step 4: Edit your copy
Your saved copy will open in the Stripo editor. Update the content for the current month:
- Replace placeholder text with your newsletter content.
- Swap out images as needed by clicking on any image block.
- Update dates, headlines, and any section-specific information.
- Do not change fonts, colors, or the overall layout — these are part of the UAMS brand standard.
| ⚠️ Important Do not click the original shared link again expecting to see your edits. Your editable copy lives in your own Stripo account under My Templates. Return there each month to make updates. |
Part 3: Exporting your newsletter to Outlook
Once your edits are complete, export the template directly to Outlook for sending.
| 1 | Click Export | In the Stripo editor, click the Export button in the top toolbar. |
| 2 | Select Outlook | From the export options, choose Email Client, then select Outlook. |
| 3 | Download the file | Stripo will generate and download an .oft file (Outlook Template file) to your computer. |
| 4 | Open the .oft file | Locate the downloaded .oft file and double-click it. It will open as a new email message in Outlook — not as an attachment. |
| 5 | Review before sending | Check that all content, images, and links appear correctly in Outlook before sending. |
| 6 | Address and send | Add your distribution group(s) in the To field and send as you normally would. |
| 💡 Tip The .oft file opens as a ready-to-send email, not a saved draft. If you need to send the same newsletter to multiple distribution groups, open the .oft file once for each group, or address all groups in the To field at the same time. |

Troubleshooting
I don’t see a ‘Sign in to Save’ button
The share link may not have the Allow copying and editing option enabled. Contact the Web Services team to have the link regenerated with that setting turned on.
My images are not showing in Outlook
This can happen if Outlook is blocking external images by default. Ask recipients to click Enable content or Download pictures in the email. If images are critical, consider embedding them rather than linking externally when building the template in Stripo.
The layout looks broken in Outlook
Outlook has a known rendering limitation with some HTML email designs. If this happens, contact Web Services so the master template can be adjusted for better Outlook compatibility.
I’ve used all 4 of my monthly free exports
Free Stripo accounts are limited to 4 HTML/Outlook exports per month. If you reach this limit, contact Web Services. As an alternative, you can copy the HTML source code from Stripo and paste it into Outlook manually.
