UAMS Link List Block

If your page has a series of links that can be organized under a common category, the UAMS Link List block could be used to display that content. You can use multiple instances of this block on one page to break up a large number of links into different categories.

Every instance of this block must have a heading. This heading tells the user what the following items have in common.

Capitalize the text in the heading according to the AP Style rules for composition titles.

There is an optional description field. It is recommended that this be filled in, as it provides additional context for why this content is relevant to the user.

Links

Every instance of this block must have at least one link. It is strongly encouraged that your UAMS Link List block have more than one link, though if it is one of several instances of the block on a single page, it may make sense for a particular block to have only one link.

Each link must have a title, a link URL and a link description.

The link text should be either the name of the destination website/webpage or a descriptive action phrase. Do not use generic phrases like “Learn More” or “Click Here.”

The link description is necessary for accessibility. It helps to distinguish between multiple links on the page that use the same link text. For example, if multiple links on the page have the same link text, but go to different destinations, screen readers will not be able to determine a difference. Your link description should adequately describe the action that is being taken by the user when they click that link. It should also be unique on the page, meaning no other link’s description should be the same value. Do not copy the link text into this field. Do not copy any related item headings into this field.

While the link caption is optional, it is strongly encouraged. Describe what the user will find or do when they click through to the destination. Use full sentences.
