Featured Image Dimensions

Images used as featured images on pages and posts must be at least 1200px x 675px.

The image used should be a landscape (horizontal) image. It will automatically be cropped to a specific landscape aspect ratio in most of the places it is used, so starting with a landscape image will yield the best results.

Most of the places the featured image will be displayed on UAMS web properties will automatically crop the image to a 16:9 aspect ratio, using the centermost portion of the image. When the page or post is shared to social media, the platforms will also automatically crop the featured image to something close to a 16:9 aspect ratio. to To avoid the risk of a suboptimal image composition when displayed in these locations, manually cropping the image to a 16:9 aspect ratio before uploading it will yield the best results.
